National Public School, Bangalore, India is one of the most prestigious schools in Bangalore.
National Public School, Koramangala is one of the newest of the schools. The principal is Dr.Bindu Hari and the chairman is Dr.GopalKrishna The vice principals are Mrs. Sudha Balan (junior school) and Mrs. Lakshmi Rao(senior school)
Students are admitted to one of four houses:
Challengers
Explorers
Pioneers
Voyagers
Each house has its distinct identity and house heritage. The Challengers, in their scarlet, aim "To strive, to seek, to find but not to yield" (a line written by Lord Alfred Tennyson). The Explorers, dressed in purple, "Endeavour to Reach Beyond". The Pioneers, in amber, are "The light that always shows, the spark that always glows". The Voyagers, in sky blue, proclaim "Vigour, Valour, Victory".
Each year, the faculty members nominate a student body to govern individual clubs and associations. Students of Grades XII / XI are eligible for the posts of School Prefect / Vice Prefect, Sports Captain / Vice Captain and House Captains / Vice Captains respectively. The School follows a system wherein one student is handed charge of the student body. A few students of Grades IX to XII are elected to preside over clubs. Clubs include Science, Mathematics, Computers, Literary, Commerce, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Music, Quizzing and the News Desk. The overall student government body comprises close to 60 members and is reigned in at an official Investiture Ceremony.
Every year the school hosts either one of the three events - Ahan, the annual day, Sports day or a science exhibition.
In 2005-2006 was hosted "Khoj" a science exhibition consisting of an array of grand exhibits. In 2006-07 took place "Ahan", the annual day with varied shows by every grade. In 2007-08 took place Sports Day with the principal of TISB as the chief guest. In 2008-09, science exhibition will be held.
National Public Schools mandate the study of Hindi from the kindergarten stage itself, while Kannada is not introduced at any level.
