National Public School was the first English Medium School opened in Hanumangarh District. The foundation stone of this prestigious institution was laid on August 24, 1981 by the then District Collector of Sri Ganganagar Mr. M.D. Kulkarni. Since then this school has been pioneer in providing excellent education up to XII standard. With over 1500 students enrolled the school sets a bright example for all other institutes in the small town of Hanumangarh.

The school has been constantly endeavouring in its mission to offer excellent education. For this it has a staff of 60. The school thus maintains a teachers: student ratio of 1:25. Right from the inception the school is enjoying the opportunity of being headed by eminent personalities like Ms. Kanwarpal, Ms. R. Nagpal and now Ms. S. Suthar. They, along with the entire team of brilliant faculty members, have proved their mettle in helping the school to remain at top spot.

The school has a rich and spacious library which caters to all kinds of need of the students. It also subscribes a number of journals and dailies. There are well equipped physics, chemistry and bilology laboratories which are an integral part of the curriculum. A state-of-the-art computer lab is provided which is equipped with high configuration PCs, CD-writers, printers and scanners. The terminals are connected in LAN and students access internet freely in the lab. The buses of the school ferry students from as far as 30 km.

The school has rich cultural and sports scene. It has a huge lush green ground which has seen many hard fought battles among the four houses vying for the coveted annual sports trophy. The enthusiasm and opportunities have produced players who have played at national level. Cultural activities are organized regularly and a music room with new classical and light music instruments has been installed. A huge Auditorium is also under construction.

The students of this school have out-performed their rivals in almost every field. They constantly continue to prove their worth by giving meritorius results in Central Board of Secondary Education boards. A large number of students enter Indian Institutes of Technology each year, some even have the audacity to drop calls from the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management, become Chartered Accountants and Doctors and are ready to re-shape the world.
