National Parks Board

The National Parks Board (Abbreviation: NParks) is a statutory board of the Singapore Government.

The National Parks Board is responsible for providing and enhancing greenery of Singapore. NParks manages around 300 parks, the park connector network and the roadside greenery in Singapore. Some of the parks managed include Singapore Botanic Gardens, Fort Canning Park, East Coast Park, Bishan Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park and Pulau Ubin Recreation Area. In addition, NParks manages nature reserves such as Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

One of their latest activities has been the implementation of DIY composting toilets. The dry toilets used were pretested/created first by Bollywood Veggies, an organic farm based in Kranji. The toilets have been given the name the Jack-a-Loo [1].
