From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Museum of Costume is located at Shambellie House, in New Abbey, Dumfries and Galloway, and forms part of the National Museums of Scotland. The Victorian country house is surrounded by woodland grounds.
The museum presents a look at fashion and social history of the mid-19th to mid-20th centuries (approximately from the 1850s to the 1950s), with interior room settings from the Victorian and Edwardian periods. Shambellie House Museum of Costume is open from March to October.
