National Maritime Museum Cornwall
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is a fully independent museum, a development of the original FIMI (Falmouth International Maritime Initiative) partnership created in 1992 and the result of collaboration between the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich and the former Cornwall Maritime Museum in Falmouth.
The museum, is located in a harbourside building at Falmouth, Cornwall.
The building was designed by architect M.J. Long.[1] It opened in February 2003.
It includes the National Small Boat Collection.[2] The museum maintains a register of small boats (under 40 foot).[3] Notable boats in the collection include Suhaili, in which Robin Knox-Johnston achieved the first single-handed non-stop circumnavigation of the Earth.
