National Highways of Pakistan

Pakistan has a nationwide system of national highways distinct from the motorways, which are currently being built. The National Highway Authority are responsible for all the national highways. Although an accepted speed limit on the national highways is 80 km/h, it is not uncommon to see cars pass by in excess of 100 km/h. National Highways often begin with the letter N, followed by 2 numerals, e.g.: N05. Some national highways however also begin with the letter S or E, followed by 2 numerals.

	N45	Extends from Nowshera to Chitral via Dir Total Length = 193 km
	N50	Extends from Kuchlack to Dera Ismail Khan via Zhob Total Length = 332 km
	N55	Extends from Kotri to Peshawar via Shikarpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and Kohat Also known as the Indus Highway. Total Length = 1264 km
	N65	Extends from Sukkur to Saryab via Sibi Total Length = 385 km
	N70	Extends from Qila Saifullah to Multan via Loralai and Dera Ghazi Khan Total Length = 447 km
	N75	Extends from Islamabad to Kohala via Satra Mile, Lower Topa and Murree Also known as the Murree Expressway. Total Length = 90 km
