National Guard Health Affairs is a leading medical complex in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It consists of sophisticated medical cities that are and scattered in many regions of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al-Ahsa). King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah (which is located in the western region of Saudi Arabia) is a leading medical city that consists of many sub-specialities such as oncology and educational institutes such as college of nursing and allied medical school.

The other hospitals that are linked to National Guard Health Affairs are the King Abdulaziz Hospital in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz Hospital Al-Ahsa (in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia), which is a new medical complex that covers Al-Ahsa City and consists of all medical specialities. In addition to that, National Guard Health Affairs is also operating a modern high quality hospital in Dammam.

The major and the largest medical city under National Guard Health Affairs is King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, which is considered as big as a real, small capital. It consists of almost all medical specialities and sub-specialities, including state of art cardiac surgery, oncology, dental, OBGYN and other medical and non medical support services and technology.

National Guard Health Affairs is a pioneer medical institute focusing on providing medical care and providing an appropriate academic education and training to all medical and non-medical staff. This is domestrated by the creation and operation by King Saud University under the umbrella of the National Guard Health Affairs focusing on medical education. The University is contributing to Saudi society by producing graduates specialising in medicine with physician at the college of medicine, graduate nurses at the college of nursing, allied health management, information technology, and college of health information. This work in transforming Saudi Arabia to become "The Kingdom of Humanity" is supported by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and by the support and contribution of skillful physicians and health providers.

King Abdulaziz Medical City became a recognized center on the international level in twins separation surgery. It became the first center all over the world with 100% successful rate in twins separation surgery.
