National Gazetteer (for Scotland)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The National Gazetteer (for Scotland) has been created by all 32 Local Authorities in Scotland who have each complied a local gazetteer for their administrative area to common standards and specification. This is almost a unique example of working by consensus to achieve a common goal.

As Local Authorities have statutory obligations in regard to planning, building control and street naming and numbering in Scotland, they are the source of definitive address information and also the source of any change element about land or property.
