From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs (NFYFC) is the largest rural youth organisation of its kind covering various Young Farmers' Clubs (YFC's) throughout England and Wales, helping support young people in agriculture and the countryside. It has grown to have over 700 clubs in England, Ireland and Wales, and many more overseas. It does not include YFC's from Scotland or Northern Ireland.

[edit] History
The oldest current Young Farmers Club (YFC) was set up in Buckingham the historic county town of Buckinghamshire, England, in 1923. Since then, YFC has grown from strength to strength.
[edit] Structure
Their memberships comprise 20,000 young people aged between 10 and 26 years. YFC's are run by members for members, unlike most other youth organisations.
The YFC's are grouped into 51 federations based mainly on county boundaries. These are grouped further into six regional areas in England and Wales and together form the NFYFC.
The young farmers movement involves people who live, work, or have an interest in the countryside join together to form an "open" Young Farmers' Club, where they can pursue their interests through a self-directed programme of activities encompassing agriculture, sport, community volunteering, the environment and a full social programme.
England and Wales are also home to a limited number of school-based farm units, which often operate "School" Young Farmers' Clubs.
