The National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) is the United States credit union movement’s primary national charitable fundraising organization for credit union development. NCUF is an affiliate of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and is located in CUNA's offices in Madison, Wisconsin and Washington, DC.

The National Credit Union Foundation engages in a variety of activities to help credit unions and community-based non-profit organizations address the financial issues that affect consumers of low- and moderate-income. In its 25+ years, the Foundation has given more than $20 million in grants in support of its mission to promote and improve consumer financial independence through credit unions. Specifically, grants are awarded to projects that address one or more of the following: • Improving access to affordable financial services • Financial education programming for all ages • Increasing asset accumulation for those of modest means

In times of disaster, NCUF raises and distributes funds to aid credit unions, employees, volunteers and members in the affected region through its National Credit Union Foundation Disaster Relief Fund. The Foundation raised over $3.5 million in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a record for the credit union system. To prepare for the next disaster, the Foundation has developed CU Aid, the credit union movement's first online disaster relief fundraising system.

NCUF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of executives from the credit union movement as well as an at-large representative.
