National Council for Culture and the Arts (Mexico)

Mexico's National Council for Culture and the Arts (Spanish: Consejo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes; CONACULTA) is a government agency in charge of the nation's museums and monuments, promoting and protecting the arts (visual, plastic, theatrical, musical, dance, architectural, literary, televisual and cinematographic), and managing the national archives.

CONACULTA is headed by a director, who serves as a member of the extended federal cabinet. The current director is Sergio Vela Martínez.
