National College Basavanagudi

National College Basavanagudi is one of the oldest Indian Colleges. It was started in the year 1945. It is located in Basavanagudi, and operates under the aiges of The National Education Society of Karnataka (NES).
Padmabhusan Dr H Narasimiah was the chairman of NES until his death. The college flourished under him. He also started the Bangalore Science Forum(BSF), the first of it's kind in India, where luminaries from various scientific disciplines would lecture everyday for an entire month. BSF holds the record for organizing the highest number of lectures on science in India. BSF has also received a National Award for promoting science.
National College has three more branches located in Jayanagar, Bagepalli and Gowribidanur.
Alumni of the college include Anil Kumble, EAS Prasanna and Vishnuvardhan.
