National Chung Cheng University (traditional Chinese: 國立中正大學; simplified Chinese: 国立中正大学) is a public university located in Min-Hsiung, Chia-Yi, Taiwan. It is widely considered to be one of the best higher education institution in the southern area of Taiwan. The university is known as CCU.

The University was the first public University established after Taiwan's economic boom in the 1980's. In order to commemorate the late president Chiang Kai-Shek and to develop higher education in the Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas, the Executive Yuan passed in 1986 a plan to establish National Chung Cheng University. It was officially founded on July 1, 1989 with Dr. Lin Ching-Jiang as the first president of the University. Dr. Lin, as the founding president of the University, set up the original five colleges of the University, namely, the College of Humanities, the College of Sciences, the College of Social Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the College of Management.
National Chung Cheng University was founded to be a research-oriented University which aims to provide students with necessary skills in humanities, the sciences, technology, law and management. It is this type of liberal arts education that allows students to effectively deal with the complexity of life in the 21st century.

The University is located in the central part of Chia-yi county.The Administration Building on the center of the campus, Facing the Auditoriun is the 8-story Library and Information Building. Besides,the lake is a spot for visitors and residents of community.
