NAS International is the umbrella body for the international branches of the Nigerian charitable and humanitarian organisation known as the National Association of Seadogs (NAS). NAS is the registered name for the group also known as the PYRATES CONFRATERNITY.

It began as a University campus confraternity in the premier university, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and has grown into an international organisation with branches in 36 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, South Africa, UK, USA, Japan, The Netherlands and Canada.

The organisation is dedicated to humanitarian and charitable endeavours within Nigeria and whatever society the members find themselves.

The Pyrates Confraternity contrary to claims of originating campus violence by using terror as a means of suppressing other up and coming campus fraternities like the Buccaneers, Eiye, Black Axe and Vikings actually pulled out of campuses in 1984 as widely publicised in the Daily newspaper. Virtually all the violence recorded in the universities involving the "Confraternities" took place after 1984, when the Pyrates had left the campuses.

The Pyrates Confraternity originated campus violence when they used terror as a means of suppressing other up and coming campus fraternities like the Buccaneers, Eiye, Black Axe and Vikings. Contratry to claims that they have pulled out of campuses, the pyrates confraternity continues to recruit student membership actively and their campus decks remain very much afloat

Members of the Pyrates confraternity carried out one of the earliest killings on campus when they murdered a member of the Black Axe Confraternity in the then Anambra State University Awka in 1989
