[edit] Music
In 2004, Nathan Leigh Jones was named Artist Of The Year at the annual Musicoz Awards[1], which lead him to record his 2006 debut album '10 Letters' at Australia's Sony BMG Studios. A music video was made for the track 'Day After Day', filmed in Kiama New South Wales, featuring a grand piano placed in the middle of a seaside quarry. The video received significant airplay on Foxtel, and the track went on to become the 'Hot Pick' in the inaugural Pacific Songwriting Competition[2]. In early 2008 the album '10 Letters' was repackaged and remixed as a 5 track EP titled 'The Way I'm Missing You', and became available worldwide through the iTunes Music Store.
[edit] Background
Nathan Leigh Jones was child number three in a family of six, and learnt to play the piano at age 4. He studied the trumpet throughout his teenage years, but concentrated solely on voice during his last year of high school, achieving a perfect score of 100% for his final moderated performance. Before recording his first album, he was the weekday drive show presenter on Life FM (Adelaide) and a youth ambassador for World Vision Australia.
[edit] Other projects
Nathan Leigh Jones composed and arranged the music for 'Centrelink The Musical' which made its debut at the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival. He is also regularly featured on Australian TV and radio commercials as a voice over artist through the agency Blah Blah Blah, including major campaigns for Hungry Jack's, Mitsubishi Motors and Jamster.
