Nathan Geist (born August 16, 1986) is an American actor[1] and active soldier (rank of E-5 Sergeant) in the United States Army National Guard. He is best known for his active involvement in both the film industry[2] and the United States military, two seemingly unconnected professions. He played Donnie Wahls (formerly billed as "Third Applicant") in the film The Promotion[3]and is one of the youngest non-commissioned officers in the military[4]. He is currently preparing for a deployment to Afghanistan with the 33rd Brigade Combat Team in the Illinois Army National Guard, putting his film career temporarily on hiatus.
