NAT transversal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Network Address Translation (NAT) transversal is an IETF draft standard, which proposes to encapsulate IPsec packets inside another layer of UDP, so that any additional address translation along the path (in between the source and destination) do not try to alter the IP address header (which is protected by an authentication header (AH)).

See IPsec article for information about authentication headers.
