Talk:Nassau

The descriptions (and a couple red-links) could use some help from someone knowledgable about the history of Germany, Netherlands, and/or Prussia (esp 17th century). Niteowlneils 00:21, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Requested move

So that Nassau, Bahamas, can be moved here: the capital city of a present-day independent nation should get primary topic disambiguation. Please discuss on Talk:Nassau, Bahamas. –Hajor 01:18, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

  • I can see your point. However I oppose to rename the Nassau in Bahamas because when I hear "Nassau" the Bahamas is certainly not the first or second or even third thing that enters my mind. However I would support a move to rename it to "Nassau (disambiguation)" but only with the "Nassau" leading to this disamb. and not as the capital of Bahamas. Gryffindor 01:39, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
    • Where are you from Gryffindor, so I can figure out your reaction to Naasau? --Commander Keane 05:59, 14 October 2005 (UTC)
  • Oppose. I think it's silly to have an article called "X (disambiguation)" if plain "X" redirects there. I don't think either Nassau, Bahamas or Nassau, Germany is sufficiently dominant to allow it to be called Nassau alone. --Angr/tɔk tə mi 11:18, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

It was requested that this article be renamed but there was no consensus for it to be moved.
