Nasim Nisr

Nasim Nisr (also spelled Nissim Nasser; Arabic: نسيم نصر‎; Hebrew: נסים נסר‎; born 1968), is a Lebanese citizen who was convicted of spying for Hezbollah. Nisr was born in Lebanon to a Muslim father and a Jewish mother who converted to Islam after her marriage. Nisr moved to Israel in 1982, and obtained Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return.[1] He was arrested in 2002, and subsequently tried and convicted of spying for Hezbollah[2]. He was sentenced to six years in prison in a plea bargain.[3]His release in a prisoner exchange was a Hezbollah demand during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, which Israel refused. After serving his sentence he was driven to the border crossing near Lebanon's southern town of Naqoura in an unmarked white jeep and handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Nasim's Israeli citizenship was revoked, and he was deported to Lebanon.[4]
