Alyson Gilbert, 28, was originally from Crookston, Minnesota and now lives in Jackson, Tennessee. A former Miss St. Paul, she has a passion for music and animals. Her husband quit his job so Alyson could pursue her dream of music. When not performing at local bars and parties, Alyson studies veterinary science at the University of Tennessee in Martin, Tennessee[2]. |
Charley Jenkins, 29, was originally from Roosevelt, Utah and now lives in Murray, Utah. Five years ago Charley moved away from home to pursue his music career but when his dad was terminally ill with cancer, Charley returned home to Utah. A year later, Charley’s dad passed away and now Charley includes a song he wrote about his father in every set he performs. He is married with a 2-year-old daughter. He was the first contestant eliminated.[3]. |
Gabe Garcia, 28, was originally from Lytle, Texas and now lives in Dickson, Tennessee. The ultimate Tex-Mex cowboy, he is hispanic and inspired by Rick Trevino. He left San Antonio and his job of 10 years after his father passed away last October to follow his dream of being the next Nashville Star[4]. |
Laura Fedor, 18, and Sophie Zalokar, 16, are high school students from Willoughby, Ohio[5]. |

Having tried to make it in San Antonio, Texas, then Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, they finally settled in Las Vegas, Nevada and on the name Third Town. After their tryout for Nashville Star the three were told that they didn’t make the top 12 and they returned to Las Vegas. However after another contestant was disqualified, the day before the first show taping they got the call saying they had made the top 12[7]. |
Ashlee Hewitt, 20, was originally from Lancaster, Minnesota and now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. One of 13 children, Ashlee grew up on a 2,500 acre horse ranch in Minnesota and is a true country girl. She left her family and her farm to move to Nashville in pursuit of her dream. Her father is currently in Iraq training Iraqis[8]. Along with her sister Katrice, Ashlee performed more than 100 shows a year for over six years before her move to Nashville[9].
