[edit] Company Name
Naseba comes from a Japanese expression “naseba naru” which means "when there is a will there is a way.” It could also be translated by “if you make it happen”.
[edit] History
Scott Ragsdale started the company from scratch with only €60,000 of personal funds, on a Friday afternoon in October 2002. He decided to quit his job as general manager of a global event company to start his own business with the help of 3 other individuals.
Two years later, naseba opened an office in Dubai and then in Bangalore in 2005. This was followed by offices in Singapore and in London in 2006.
In order to expand even further, naseba did a reverse takeover of MM Finance, a company listed on the Marché Libre of the Paris Stock Exchange. On October 5th 2006, naseba went public and became naseba group (reference: MLNSB).
In 2007, naseba group signed a joint venture with *Lnoppen, the biggest conference company in China, opened offices in Cape Town and in Prague and acquired *Ambition Events, an ultra-marathon company.
naseba group has now 3 entities: naseba, Lnoppen and Ambition events.
[edit] Business model
The company generates revenue by holding networking forums. Those last two days and includes roundtable discussions and keynote presentations on topics, workshops and opportunities to network with all the participants. Those events occur world-wide. Thematically the workshops may cover one of four areas - Travel and Tourism, Strategy, Global expansion and knowledge expansion.
