[edit] Trivia

  • This is the first NASCAR game to feature two races at the tracks that at the time had two dates.
  • There is a major difference between the races at Lowe's Motor Speedway when compared with its predecessor, NASCAR 2000. In NASCAR 2000, like the actual race itself, the race started in daylight, but as the player races on the conditions change and by the end of the race it is nighttime. In NASCAR 2001, the conditions remain the same throughout the race.
  • This is the only NASCAR game that features Scott Pruett.
  • Create-A-Car is another feature of this game.
  • This is the first EA Sports game to be featured on Playstation 2.
  • This was the final game that featured Dale Earnhardt as a regular full-time driver.
  • This is the first game in the NASCAR line-up that the regular XBOX has been excluded.
  • Johnny Benson is absent in this game.
  • This is the first NASCAR game to include Jimmy Spencer
  • A lot of tracks (Michigan, Texas, Pocono, etc.) are absent in the game for unknown reasons.
  • The drivers Michael Waltrip, Kenny Irwin Jr., Richard Petty, and Adam Petty will not participate in any of the races as a computer opponent. You must be the driver.

[edit] Alcohol sponsors

  • Rusty Wallace's Miller Lite Ford will be the Team Rusty Ford in the game.
  • Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Budweiser Chevy will be the Dale Jr. Chevy in the game.
  • Sterling Marlin's Coors Light Chevy will be the Sabco Chevy in the game.
