Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Again, welcome! [edit] NASA logo use
The NASA logo is tagged with a fair use logo. The reason for this is that images which are released for educational purposes only are not usable by Wikipedia under those terms. We accept images under two broad categories; fair use and free license. Used with permission does not fall into either of those categories. Since the NASA logo has not been released under a free license, its use here on Wikipedia means it must be under terms of fair use. Note that in the above instructions that you quoted, it specifically states that the general permission does NOT apply to the NASA logo. Since the image is a fair use image, its use outside of the main article namespace is proscribed by the terms of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9. If you have any other questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. --Durin 12:47, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Minor edits
Dear Narold,
I have recently noticed that you have marked most of your edits as minor edits, while many of them are not fulfilling the definitions of minor edits. Please understand and do not mismark your edits. Thank you!

[edit] Jack Hui
Hi, I realised you have suggested an election should be raised for the public to decide whether the article should be deleted or remains its existence in wikipedia. Why don't you start the process as I have nominated it for deletion last time, so I should not be rasing the issue again. --Cyktsui 06:22, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Halloween_English.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Halloween_English.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:01, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Canon Powershot S5 IS.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Canon Powershot S5 IS.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:12, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:User OXFAM
A tag has been placed on Template:User OXFAM requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
