what about the cooking ninja....? I changed the line "Akatsuki is currently collecting the tailed beasts." to "The Akatsuki is currently collecting the tailed beasts." I know it's a little change but grammar must be consistantly well.

[edit] There

Founded the page. It'll be up to the other editors to decide how to shape the article, as I have no where near as much time to get on as is needed. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (talk) 20:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Good work. If we are putting countries from movies and filler arcs it would be better to merging them and create Other Countries. Tintor2 15:29, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Naruto_geography&diff=prev&oldid=170570712

I feel that it would be best to go and actually merge ALL of the info from there instead of the 3-4 most often seen. Or at least make a condensed version of what was there.--Marhawkman (talk) 21:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Land of Water/Land of Waves: Same Thing?

Land of Water
The Land of Water (水の国, Mizu no Kuni)
Kirigakure
Kirigakure (霧隠れの里, Kirigakure no Sato)
Land of Waves
The Land of Waves (波の国, Nami no Kuni)
Great Naruto Bridge
The Great Naruto Bridge (ナルト大橋, Naruto Ōhashi)

I though the Land of Waves and the Land of Water were the same thing. I thought Kirigakure had the Great Naruto Bridge in it. Or at least the Land of Waves was a nickname for part of the Land of Water, someone please help me out. You can EMail me to explain it to me: Arkanemancer

Well you thought wrong. :p--Marhawkman (talk) 21:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Problem

I have come onto this page on accident multiple times when I've tried to click on certain charector's names, such as Temari and Suigetsu. What's wrong?!?!?!?!?!-tavaresiroc

Some links are not working properly at the moment. Please use List of Naruto characters as character navigation for the time being. ~SnapperTo 19:41, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Oy... I hate it when people do AFD's like this. the whole collection of articles is so crosslinked that removing the central section messes EVERYTHING up.--Marhawkman (talk) 21:52, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chunin/Chuunin

Shouldn't it actually be Chūnin everywhere? —Random832 14:38, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

An old discussion decided to drop macrons entirely. ~SnapperTo 18:35, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
That discussion appears to refer specifically to article names rather than the use of terms (not character names) within an article, and is on the basis of what is a common name; It's not clear otherwise how it can supersede the manual of style. I've looked over that discussion and I don't see how the consensus there can be read as "drop macrons entirely" on something unrelated to article titles or character names. —Random832 18:58, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Also, where the issue came up (see "BIG TIME comment"), the preference appeared to be for using macrons in class ranks (e.g. Chūnin) but not character names, and it was only then that removal of macrons was added to the proposal (macrons were also otherwise not the main issue in that discussion). —Random832 19:02, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Well, that was the discussion that resulted in a unilateral dropping of macrons. I seem to remember being the one who removed macrons from article text, so perhaps I misconstrued the discussion. The current Naruto FAQ cites WP:NAME in terms of why macrons aren't used, but I see nothing there actually supporting the practice. ~SnapperTo 19:19, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

What about Jonin? In the early episodes (around 5 or 6 I think) it's spelled Jounin, but no one on the site seems to support that spelling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Atthecross (talkcontribs) 21:52, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Which episodes? Sub? Dub? In any case, "Jônin" has seen far more recent usage than whatever was used in episodes 5 or 6. ~SnapperTo 04:00, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Dub. Thanks though I was mostly just curious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Atthecross (talkcontribs) 23:22, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

Any objection to changing it to Jōnin/Chūnin to confirm to WP:MOSJP? This isn't an english term, so the romanization rules there apply (unless anyone can find anything in writing from the dub or officially translated manga) —Random832 22:00, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't really see a need to change it, but at the same time I don't see a reason to NOT change it either.--Marhawkman (talk) 23:39, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Where'd the map go?

The old article had a large map of the shinobi countries. where'd it go?--Marhawkman (talk) 21:32, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

In the intermission between when Naruto geography was redirected via AfD and this article was created, that image was deleted as an orphaned fair use image. ~SnapperTo 22:47, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Where was it uploaded from? can't we just reupload, if we know where it came from?--Marhawkman (talk) 12:08, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
It was an image I adapted from a screenshot in episode 23. If you'd like to reupload it, I saved a copy. ~SnapperTo 21:20, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
I can't get the page to load....--Marhawkman (talk) 11:39, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
The image can be undeleted if a fair use rationale is provided for its use in this article (I'd also need the exact name of the image.) —Random832 16:10, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Cool! Um... Therein lies the problem. The image vanished because the page it was on got removed and some of the information relocated to here. I just suddenly realized I have a Copy on HD. The copy is called "NarutoMap.gif". Should I just reupload from HD?--Marhawkman (talk) 11:19, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
No reason not to - remember to provide a fair use rationale. —Random832 15:55, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

What about Saanin howcome they are never mentioned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.216.30.233 (talk) 12:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tailed Beasts ranks

Translated from portuguese wikipedia: 1st: Kyuubi(9 tails), 2nd: Yamato(8 tails), 3rd: Houkou(5 tails), 4th: Nibi (2 tails), 5th: Raijuu (6 tails), 6th: Isonade (3 tails), 7th: Nanabi (7 tails), 8th: Ichibi (1 tail) and 9th: Yonbi (4 tails). I put it there to someone put on the article; This info is based on the chinese legend, are not taken from any Naruto episode, chapter, omake or/and databook.--Mastercomputerpro9999 (talk) 14:44, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Funny thing is, it is (at least, it's not based on a Chinese legend). The Isonade is patently wrong, and yamato isn't even a beast, it's a name for Japan's patriotic spirit. Furthermore, there's nothing remotely chinese about any of these. It's all fanwank - some Naruto fan made up a story and passed it off as the basis for the tailed beasts. Not even Mr. Lister's Koromon survived intact. 17:35, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Erm, why would you base information on something not related to Naruto? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DrTheKay (talkcontribs) 08:04, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Minor Edits

Just some minor edits on Kirigakure for clarity. Grifter tm (talk) 05:17, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Narutokage.jpg

Image:Narutokage.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] What

Naruto ninja ranks needs to be seperated and all the hidden villages that were taken out of this article put back in.Earthbendingmaster (talk) 02:01, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

No. Ninja ranks isn't notable enough for its own article. Why should we mention ihdden villages who are only mentioned for a few episodes? Only major ones, like Leaf, Sand, and Rain, should be mentioned. Artist Formerly Known As Whocares (talk) 21:57, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hidden Village Symbols

Just a tought: perhaps the known symbols of some villages could be added to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.3.0.61 (talk) 21:32, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Uchiha Clan

The Uchiha Clan is gone now. There was a page for them before but what happened to it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1saro (talk • contribs) 03:31, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Probably not notable enough. I mean what did they do, die. thats it. well, that and provide a very prelevant subplot. Rau J16 11:15, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cooking-Nin

There's a section under the heading "Cooking-Nin"; does it really exist in the Naruto world? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zachary crimsonwolf (talkcontribs) 14:06, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A team pattern

I just noticed that all the teams in kohona are Boy, Boy, and Girl. However, I noticed that Choujji, Ino and Shikamaru's Fathers were all in one team and that broke the rule. Please note me if I'm wrong with that comment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.123.249.135 (talk) 16:46, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] genin

I accidently saved the page before I put an edit summary, so I'd like to explain just in case... the sentence was added by some anonymous user, and I felt the easiest way to fix it was to undo it. "the only exceptions being uzumaki naruto and uchiha sasuke who're still genin, even though their powers & jutsu can be considered jonin or higher. " they aren't the only exceptions. Enough said. Besides the fact the capitalization was off. It was probably a good faith edit though... Istillcandream (talk) 06:18, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Valley of the End

I noticed that there were no Japanese words for the name of the Valley. I listened to the Japanese anime, since I don't have the RAW manga. Sasuke said Shūmatsu no Tani instead of the Owari no Tani that the kanji here previously had. I looked up based on the sound on wiktionary and found that 終末の谷 still means Valley of the End, just with more emphasis. If anyone can prove or disprove this please note it, but I think it's right. I didn't see an entry in the Second Databook on the Valley either. Rayfire (talk) 22:55, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Since chapter 232 is named after this particular landmark, you appear to be correct. ~SnapperTo 23:10, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
I checked with both the Japanese manga and the second databook, and Shūmatsu no Tani (終末の谷) is indeed correct. --JadziaLover (talk) 12:16, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
