Talk:Naruto Shippūden: Narutimate Accel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The period isn't really neccesary. アクセル is a Japanese term for "accelerator", and is frequently been rendered simply as "accel", with no full stop, in many cases. Generally, romanizations of Japanese shorthand, contractions, compound words, syllabic abbreviations, portmanteaus, wasei-eigo, and so on, are done without the use of full stops (periods) or apostrophes. For example, デパート, Japanese for "department store", is romanized as "depart". エロ, "erotic", is "ero".

I mean, rendering it as "Accel." isn't really wrong, it's just not common practice. If you're gonna use a full stop with Accel, then you should probably use an apostrophe or hyphen in Narutimate, and make it "Naru'timate" or "Naru-timate", eh?

Besides, I don't think there are any rules stating you have to use full stops in abbreviations anyway. User:WtW-SuzakWtW-Suzaku 08:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

I still don't know if it will be ps3 or 2

It says Playstation 2 on the official site. God, people are dumb. Is it that hard to read? WtW-Suzaku 12:55, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Deidara playable

I saw a recent scan for Narutimate Accel, and it showed Deidara as a playable character. Should we start up a "Confirmed Characters" list? [edit] Temari and Shikamaru playable

Where is the proof that these 2 are playable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.227.114.125 (talk • contribs)

They're listed on cyberconnects official Narutimate accel page... I'll post the adress, so you can check for yourself, kay? http://www.cyberconnect2.jp/narutoA/main.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.228.148.183 (talk) 23:45, 9 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Character source.

It bothers me that I can't find the picture that confirms Gaara's participation in this game. Therefore, I'd like people who finds scans on characters on unofficial pages to post links to those pictures on this discussion thread. I'm going to remove Gaara as a confirmed character for now, until a link to the picture that confirms his participation is submitted. 217.208.25.160 22:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

  • There is a slight possibility of Gaara's confirmation: a promotional item for the game has an item for him as well as Itachi, Kisame and Sasori. (Naruto and Deidara have one too, but already confirmed) Though no screenshots show any of them, they can't have those items without those three being in the game. -StrangerAtaru 18:31, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

If those guys are gonna appear in a game that comes out before the second episode, than they sure as heck are gonna be in this one, but let's wait and see. SoundPound500000 January 30, 2007 7:24 p.m.

Hrm, I know this is gonna get some people annoyed, but I feel like I have to remove some names on the newly upgraded "confirmed characters" section... Reason: Yes, the characters in question DOES appear on the box art of the game, but that's not the same as confirming the characters... Look at the Naruto: Ultimate ninja box art for example... It features Anko, Shino, Tenten, to name a few, that were not in the game... Let me assure you, I'm not doing this for fun, and I actually believe that all of the characters on the box art, plus a few more, are gonna be present in the game, but until we get in-game pictures, we are not allowed to jump to conclusions and add them... I'm sorry, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. 217.208.25.182 15:24, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Good call. The only *officially* announced characters are listed on the Official Page. I'm reverting Sandtiger 15:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
It makes zero sense for them to put characters in such prominent positions on the cover and then not include them in the game. With the amount of characters the previous games in this series has had, it's safe to assume the characters on the box art will be in the game. The Splendiferous Gegiford 06:18, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Der,that's an assumption on your part. They actually have to remodel most the characters (new costumes and all). It's easy to update the page as official sources let us know for sure. Until they I say we should stick to the smaller list Sandtiger 06:28, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
BTW I'm cool with keeping all the current list, but you may want to change the heading from "Confirmed Characters" to "Safe to Assume Characters" Sandtiger 06:40, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
In these times of foolishness, I am reminded of the somewhat ironic words of Zapp Branigann: "What are you people, idiots?" If they're on the cover, they're in the game. Period. This isn't like the first game of a series where they're just trying to fill space. By this point, character selection only goes up. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 08:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you. The name-calling really adds substance to your argument. We already have precedent that box-art does not necessarily mean the characters are in the game. And only Cyberconnect gets to confirm characters, not you. Whatever, I'm not responding to this anymore. Sandtiger 08:34, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

You should consider the Japanese box-art, not the American one. The Japanese boxart of Narutimate Hero is more accurate.

Thank you. It didn't occur to me to point that out. American boxart is redone and not indicative of what the original intended. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 08:01, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm right now sitting with my Japanese imported Narutimate Hero 1 game in front of me... The characters that are pictured on the game but not playable (I'm going to assume that "confirmed" is synonymous with "playable" in this case) in it are, from left to right: Anko, Gai, Asuma, Kurenai, Jiraya, Kiba, Ino, Tenten, Chouji, Shino (image reference: http://mega-naruto.ifrance.com/images/JV/N-ps2-1.jpg)... I'm actually rather disappointed at you, Someguy... Usually, you wouldn't hestitate to bring up this kind of subject yourself. 217.208.25.18 01:38, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm not so good at finding such images, so I'll retract what it said. Still, there are various Japanese commercials showing the same lineup. I'll also point out the prominantly featured argument up above. They're not really up in the front, just around. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 02:55, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, whatever, I won't push this any longer (even if I WOULD feel a lot better with some actual images). 217.208.25.18 03:14, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
As would we all, but I can only tell you that the commercials feature the same lineup (non-game animated). I'll also note that this game's Wii equivalent features the same characters. I see no reason why they'd cut this one down. — Someguy0830 (T | C) 03:20, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Umm... Narutimate Hero PS2 series is NOT equivalent to Gekitou Ninja Taisen Nintendo series. THEY ARE NOT EQUIVALENT. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.106.149.155 (talk) 03:33, 13 February 2007 (UTC).

...This game should come out for North America soon....I cant wait to play it!

Here is the scan for Chiyo. Nemu 23:12, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, Nemu. At least some people on this site knows what "Please provide a reliable source" means. // DecaimientoPoético 23:14, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jutsu Collision

There is also jutsu collision in Narutimate Hero 3. Is that really a new feature of this game? Moonwalkerwiz 06:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
