Naruto (鳴門市 Naruto-shi?) is a city located in Tokushima, Japan.

As of 2008, the city has an estimated population of 62,453 and the density of 461 persons per km². The total area is 135.46 km².

The city was founded on March 15, 1947.

One of the famous attractions is the Naruto whirlpools[1] between Naruto and Awaji Island in Hyōgo, Japan.

Naruto has the home stadium of professional soccer team Tokushima Vortis.

Ryōzenji and Gokurakuji, the first two of the 88 temples of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, are in Naruto.
