Narula Institute of Technology (NIT) is an engineering college in West Bengal, India, situated in Kolkata, located at 81, Nilgunj Road, Kolkata:700109.
Affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and the AICTE, this college boasts of state-of-the-art labs, classrooms and teaching facilities.
NIT is one of six colleges under the JIS Group and has already seen several successful batches of engineers pass out of it with jobs from top IT companies under their belts. Almost 10% of the 2008 students received jobs in various multinational corporations, such as TCS, CTS, WIPRO, Tech mahindra, Tata ELXSI, and L&T Info tech.
There exists a very good teacher-student relationship, although in the recent years there have been problems between them. The JIS Group Boasts of having students who frequently beat up teachers as was evident during the semester exams held in December 2007. The University suspended all examinations of the JIS College.
