Narelda Jacobs

Narelda Jacobs is a news anchor for Ten News in Perth, Western Australia, beginning in 2008.
She grew up in Perth where her father was a Preist. His occupation made her expressing her sexuality difficult at an early stage in her life.
Previously she had been a reporter with Ten News in Perth since 2000, after graduating from the W.A. Academy of Performing Arts and starting her career as a reporter at GWN in Bunbury.
Most recently she had been a specializing as a court reporter, but had also filled in as weather presenter over summer.
She began reading Ten's 5pm news in 2008, several months after the sudden death of Charmaine Dragun who had preceded her in the role.
Narelda has a teenage daughter,after becoming a mother at the age of 18, and is the first Aboriginal, and first openly lesbian news reader in Perth.
