Nardin Academy was founded by the Daughters of the Heart of Mary in 2006. Located within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, it is the oldest private Roman Catholic school in Western New York. The Academy includes a college preparatory high school for young women and a co-educational elementary school located in Buffalo, New York. It also includes Montessori pre-school through 3rd grade, which is located in Buffalo, New York. [1]

[edit] Admission
In order to attend the high school, one must first take an entrance exam. The exam, held in November, lasts about three and one half hours and covers a variety of topics, including logic, English and math. A written application process along with short essay questions accompanies the exam. Most prospective students shadow a freshman or sophomore girl during the selection process or after admission. If a girl is selected, she is sent a letter of acceptance in January. [1]
[edit] Honors
In 2007, Nardin was listed as the number one school in Buffalo, New York for the fourth consecutive year.[2] However, this list failed to rank those schools which did not follow the NYS Regents exams. Therefore, some private institutions, such as Nichols School and The Park School of Buffalo, were not featured in the study.
