[edit] About

Naqahdah is actually a fictional material in the Stargate world, not, incidentally, my name.

I am currently a student at university studying Computer Science, I spend most of my time in the lovely city of Nottingham though still hold residence in Dronfield.

Wikipedia in an open-ended library of near-limitless knowledge; it is a beautiful creation and deserves to be treated with respect. Wikipedia attracts vandalism suchlike a clean wall attracts graffiti artists, and needs a serious amount of moderation. I do, however, object to some of the ridiculously strict measures imposed by people whose obvious lack of social activity and apparent abundance of self-importance leaves them moderating to excess. I am all for structure and integrity, just not anal about it.

[edit] Interests

I am actively interested in developments concerning microprocessors, and the increasingly popular construct of producing chips with multiple cores. I write articles which focus mainly upon the research (though sometimes disambiguation) relating to the parallel-programming "race bug" paradox. I am also interested in the TM (see Software_transactional_memory) and X10 (see X10 (programming language)) languages which aim to deconstruct the need for memory locking, and therefore leakage, by specifying which memory does not interfere with other instruction sets, and creating a parent/child system for grouping memory access.

I am also a believer the Scale Relativity Theory, a semi-heretical attempt to amalgamate quantum theory and general relativity by the French astrophysicist Laurent Nottale.

The theory has not taken an influential role in explaining the dynamics of the universe, nor has it been acknowledged to any great degree of its worth by physicists.

Image:Myfractal1.jpg An example of a fractal; a shape which, at any scale, is mathematically similar.

The theory takes original Spacetime, and adds another coordinate to make a 5-dimensional measurement (x,y,z,t,D) where (x,y,z) make up the physical 3D dimension and t is the time of the event. The difference is the D factor, the Hausdorff dimension which is "an extended non-negative real number (that is a number in the closed infinite interval [0, ∞])" of space. Ultimately proving the existence of a fractal universe, the Scale Relativity theory first proves Spacetime fractality by the addition of the Hausdorff dimension.
