Talk:Naqahdah generator
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If the substance is called Naqahdah, shouldn't this article be spelled Naqahdah Generator? 24.4.199.243 08:25, 7 August 2005 (UTC)
The name of the substance itself is in dispute. It wasn't intended this way, but this seems to be a good compromise. LD 15 August 2005
IMO, this image settles the debate: Image:Stargate SG-1 2x01 Serpent's Lair 059.jpg. It's spelled "Naqahdah" on-screen, so I'm going to move the article to that spelling. Bryan 20:28, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Mark I generator?
I remember there used to be a larger version of the generator (the one Carter orignally made) before the slimmer version was widely used. There's a picture of the older one at GateWorld in the episode New Ground (next to the MALP). I was just wondering why there's no mention of the two different versions. [edit] Marks
There are Mark III and Mark VIII tactical missiles (source). Can anybody explain the Mark thing here? Cristan 22:42, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Those are completely different things and have nothing to do with the missiles. They had up to a Mk. V that we know about since 1997 on the show but the newer ones (Mk. VI through IX) were only possible with Naqahdah it seems which they got later on, but no, they are not generators.

[edit] Stargateproject
Please manually move the above banner to the top of the page.
This banner has been added to aid project coordination. It was added using AWB, the automation of which could not place the banner at the top; please help by doing this manually. --Albotim 02:29, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Atlantis's self destruct?
I thought the Naqahdah generators were their means of self-destruct before they got ZPM. Isn't overloading the ZPM their primary self-destruct now since the generators wouldn't totally vaporize the city?

[edit] Actual value of naquadah generator
Heya did some math based on figures quoted in the road not taken and based on observations made while watching a line in the sand.
It turns out that a nquadah generator produces precisely enough power to power two 60 watt light bulbs.
This is obviously a spoof by the producers. They must have said throw out some number that sounds big and will fool everyone. I would add this but I don't have a clue on wiki style or whatever. Will be surprised if this is here when I check next time. Just thought I would point it out.
[edit] Picture of the Mark II
I know that we have only actually seen a Mark II twice; the siege part II and Critical Mass, but can someone add a picture, both episodes don't offer anything that good, but maybe we can get creative.
Here's one of it's keypad:

Also, note at the top of the pic, it says Mk-2 V2 so maybe they made a newer one that can last longer.
Here's one but it's not that great:

I couldn't find any good ones from that site from "The Siege, Pt. 2"

[edit] Naqadah Reactor
It should be called a naqadah reactor, not a generator, seeing that it doesn't produce naqadah.
