[edit] Importance

This is the largest remaining marsh of san francisco bay (technically within the San Pablo Bay). It is also home to numerous rare and endangered species, many of which are endemic to the marsh itself. it has high notability in its role as a major west coast wetlands restoration project; in fact the largest in the SF bay.
