Large Animation of a schematic Napier Deltic 2-stroke, uniflow, opposed-piston, high-speed diesel engine.

Notice that the bottom shaft rotates in the opposite direction to the others and that the inlet ports (green) lag behind the timing of the exhaust ports (purple).
