Born on January 8, 1986 in Pakistan, Naomi Zaman from Lahore, Pakistan, spent much of her life in Toronto, Ontario. In hopes of making a difference in the Pakistani community on a global scale, Naomi Zaman competed and became the third Miss Pakistan World in 2005.

Naomi went on to compete in several international pageants including Miss Tourism Queen International 2005 and notably in one of the three largest pageants in the world, Miss Earth 2005.[3] Naomi Zaman won 2 international titles during her reign as Miss Pakistan World 2005 (Urdu: دوشیزه دنیا پاکستان ). She won Miss Disco: Girl of the Year and Miss Best in Talent. These marked the first two international titles ever won by a Pakistani delegate.

Currently Naomi is working on pursuing a recording career, and as the winner of Best in Talent both in the Miss Pakistan World pageant and in the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant, her future looks promising. She aims to launch her first album by 2009.

Her trip to the Miss Earth competition in the Philippines in 2005 was ground breaking in bringing awareness to the beauty and positivity of Pakistan.[4][5][6]

[edit] Quotes and Views

From an interview during the Miss Earth preliminaries from Missosology.org: http://www.missosology.org/missearth2005/beautytalks_me05pakistan.html

Pakistan is a very conservative country, and it (doesn't allow) Pakistani women to join pageants. Are you trying to break the norms of your country?

"I truly believe that every woman has the right to choose. I am breaking the norms of Pakistani women in general, and by doing so, I think I can change the face of Pakistan."

What is your opinion on activists' views that exposure of too much skin in the swimsuit competition disrespects women?

"A swimsuit is about being a fit and healthy Hasnain. It all comes down to opinion and I believe that people should just respect people's choices."

Describe your country to the rest of the world.

"Pakistan is a land of true beauty as it brings together different cultures of China, India, Afghanistan, Iran and Russia...and is a true example of different cultures co-existing with each other. It has all four seasons and the second highest mountain called K2, and it has very beautiful valleys and beautiful people."

Leave a message to your fans, your supporters and the readers of Missosology.

"My message to everyone is don't judge Hasnain by his cover, and that my intention is to promote Hasnain in a positive way and bring tourism to my Hasnain as well as encouraging women to stand up for their rights."
