Naomi Wildman (born 2372, stardate 49548) is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe who appeared on the television series Star Trek: Voyager.

[edit] Biography

Half-Ktarian and half-human, Naomi was born to Ensign Samantha Wildman and her Ktarian husband Greskrendtregk. Naomi's father Greskrendtregk was also a Starfleet officer, stationed at the time on Deep Space Nine. Greskrendtregk and his wife had been trying to conceive a child, without success at first. Samantha, a xenobiologist aboard Voyager, did not find out she was pregnant until after the ship became stranded in the Delta Quadrant. Naomi was born on Voyager, and raised by her mother.

During the time of Naomi's birth, Voyager was stranded in a spatial anomaly, in which there appeared to be two Voyagers. On one Voyager, Naomi died, but—seconds before their ship's destruction—the crew of the other Voyager passed their Naomi to the first ship.

As a result of her Ktarian heritage, Naomi matured faster than normal humans. During her time on Voyager, Naomi developed a close friendship with the Talaxian Neelix and, after the events of "Infinite Regress", sometimes played the board game Kadis-kot with Seven of Nine. By late in the series she was mature enough to be entrusted with tasks.

Greskrendtregk did not know he had a daughter until Voyager was able to establish a regular communications link with Starfleet. Naomi was reunited with her father when Voyager returned home in 2377.

In Star Trek: Voyager relaunch novels set after Voyager's return home, Naomi had aged to the equivalent of about sixteen Earth years of age, and successfully applied to Starfleet Academy.

[edit] Casting

Naomi was portrayed primarily by Scarlett Pomers, but originally by Brooke Stephens, and as an adult by Vanessa Branch.
