Nancy Jo Powell

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nancy Jo Powell (b. 1947, Cedar Falls, Iowa) is the newly nominated American ambassador for Nepal[1]. She has worked as an ambassador previously in Pakistan from 2002 to 2004[2] and handled other posts in other Southern Asian nations.

Nancy is believed to help Nepal maintain good political relations with the USA apart from economic relationship. As the USA is changing its viewpoints about the Maoist insurgents who fought a decade long civil war and are now in mainstream politics as one of the main political parties, Nancy is expected to remove the "terrorists" tag from the Maoists as soon as she becomes the ambassador.
