Convention: Often made-for-television productions share the same name as other programs, series, movies, books or terms. When disambiguating a television production from something else, use (television) in the title when only one television production had that name, for example 24 (television) and The West Wing (television). Disambiguate further only if multiple articles using the following guidelines:

• Country of origin: For similar shows that are broadcast in different countries use the country of broadcast, for example Big Brother (UK television) and Big Brother (USA television).

• Revivals: Occasionally television shows are revived such as Battlestar Galactica, in such cases use the original year of release Battlestar Galactica (1978) or Battlestar Galactica (re-imagining).

• Show type: When television shows are similarly named such as Beauty and the Beast (disambiguation) but have different concepts use the type of show to disambiguate Beauty and the Beast (TV series) and Beauty and the Beast (TV talk show), or Lost (TV series) and Lost (reality TV series).
  • Series - productions that are produced under a single name, with each episode relating to the others in an understandable way, e.g. Doctor Who
  • Game show - productions with contestants playing a game for for points or prizes, e.g. The Price is Right or Jeopardy!
  • Reality series - productions that are generally is unscripted, documenting actual events over fiction, and featuring "ordinary" people over professional actors, e.g Survivor and The Real World
  • News show news programs such as NBC Nightly News and Nightline
  • Talk show - production where a group of people come together to discuss various topics put forth by a talk show host, e.g. The Late Show with David Letterman and The Oprah Winfrey Show

• Episodes: the article name is the episode title, e.g. Bart the Genius. Only add the series name between parentheses if that is necessary because there are other articles by the same name, e.g. Fear of Flying (Simpsons).
