Coordinates: 11°22′N 77°20′E / 11.37, 77.33 Nambiyur is a punchayat town and Punchayat Union in Gobichettipalayam Taluk, Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

The town named after a small ruler "Nambi", which is mentioned in one of the Eswaran Kovil stone carvings.

Nambiyur is located at 11.37° N 77.33° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 301 metres (987 feet).

As of 2001 India census[2], Nambiyur had a population of 15,651. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Nambiyur has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 50%. In Nambiyur, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age.

It is authorized training center for SECT-NCEIT(Setup with core support from Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India).
