Nambiar

The name Nambiar (pronounced [n̪ambjaːr]) applies to two separate Hindu communities from Kerala, South India:
- Nambiar (Nair Subcaste) (majority of Nambiars belong to this)- A sect of Nairs from the North Malabar region of Kerala, i.e. chieftains and feudal landlords.
- Nambiar (Ambalavasi) - Ambalavasi, Pushpaka Brahmin sect. Associated with ritualistic temple performances like Chakyar Koothu and Koodiyattam.
- Nambiyar- Sholiyar Brahmin name from Tamil Nadu
- Nambiar is also an English family title that is independent of Hindu Nambiars from Kerala.
