Namada Chilume

Namada Chilume is situted near Devarayanadurga near to Tumkur in the state of Karnataka in India. Namada Chilume is a natural spring coming out from the surface of the rock. It is believed that Lord Shri Rama along with Sitha and Laxman was staying here during their Vanavaas. Lord Shri Rama searched for water to apply nama/tilak on his forehead. When he couldn't find any water, he shot the arrow aiming to the rock. The arrow penetrated through rock, made a hole and the water came out. Hence forth this place is called as Naamada Chilume which means the "Spring of Tilak". As shown in the picture, the water comes out from a small hole through out the year and never dry up
