Nam Phan (b. March 13, 1983) is a professional mixed martial arts fighter. He currently fights in the lightweight division.

Phan began training in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 4. By the age of 16, he had earned a 2nd degree black belt. Phan participated on the wrestling team in high school and began studying jiu jitsu in the year 2000. He has competed in such MMA promotions as WEC and King of the Cage. In 2005, Phan co-founded the Ma Du Entertainment, a business to promote mixed martial arts fighters. He currently teaches mixed martial arts in addition to fighting. His list of students include Yoshi Vu, a United States Marine and Pankration fighter who placed 4th at the Armed Forces Pankration tournament, Justin Gates, an animator at LATV and at the famous Southpark cartoon series, and Keone Baricuatro the 2nd place winner of the 2008 California Pankration Championships.
Nam Phan won the Extreme Fighters World Championships by defeating Shad Smith via TKO at 1:11 of the first round on October 6, 2007. He recently defeated Saad Awad in the Gladiators Challenge promotion and will be fighting again at the March 29th Strikeforce event.[1] He will next meet undefeated prospect Billy Evangelista (6-0) for Strikeforce on June 27th.[2]
Phan is also a professional boxer with a record of three wins and zero losses.[3]
Nam Phan takes pride in his Vietnamese heritage and is avid in the Vietnamese American community. He proudly displays both the American and pre-Vietnam War Vietnamese flag on his gi as a symbol of his pride in the freedom of his current home, and of his lost homeland.
