Nakumatt

Nakumatt is a Kenyan supermarket chain. It has 18 stores across Kenya and employs 3,200 people. It is planning to expand to Uganda, Rwanda and other East African countries. [1]

Turnover in 2006 was over US$300m, up 150% on the previous year. [2] The company was alleged to be involved in tax evasion in 2006, although to date no charges have been filed.[3] Nakumatt is an abbreviation for Nakuru Mattresses. [4]
