Nakhon Phanom University (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยนครพนม) was established in the year 2005 by combining the local existing institutes in Nakhon Phanom Province, which composes of Nakhon Phanom Rajabhat University, Nakhonphanom Technical College, Nakhonphanom College of Agriculture and Technology, Thatphanom Community Education College, Nawa Community Education College, and Boromarjonani College of Nursing, Nakhon Phanom.
At the present, the university main campus is located at 330 Abhibalbancha Road, Nai Muang, Muang, Nakhon Phanom 48000. The university has already opened academic courses following the old institute courses. However, in the next few years, there will be opened other courses. The present faculties, colleges, and institutes are as follow:
- Faculty of Management Sciences and Information Technology
- Faculty of Art and Science
- Nawa Community Education College
- Nakhonphanom College of Agriculture and Technology
- Boromarjonani College of Nursing, Nakhon Phanom
- Nakhonphanom Technical College
- Tourism and Service Industry College
- International Aviation College
- Research and Development Institute
