Najmuddin Shaikh

Najmuddin Shaikh (1939– ) is a former Pakistani diplomat. Shaikh, from Sindh province, joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1961. During his 38 years of service, he served as Pakistan's Ambassador to West Germany, Canada, the USA and Iran, and from 1994 to March 1997 Shaikh served as Pakistan's Foreign Secretary, after being replaced by Shamshad Ahmad. His wife, Raana Shaikh, has served as the Managing Director of Pakistan Television, and earlier as Secretary for the Ministry of Culture.
