[edit] Merge proposal
This is clearly a duplicated article and should be merged with Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan. Bueller 007 (talk) 07:30, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Not clearly duplicative. Not appropriate for merging at this time. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 13:38, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Removing merge tag -- probably premature for now.--Ooperhoofd (talk) 21:18, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Just offering additional context for removing merge tag because "[t]he office of the Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal was identical with the old Naidaijin only in name."[1] and [2]
Under the circumstances, perhaps it will be perceived as helpful if this exchange (originally here at Talk:Naidaijin) is redundantly copied at Talk:Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal of Japan? --Ooperhoofd (talk) 20:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
The underlying reasons for a proposed edit of Kugyō by Bueller 007 would seem equally applicable in this article's context:
-
- (cur) (last) 05:48, 21 December 2007 Bueller 007 (Talk | contribs) (6,240 bytes) (the eight ministries are unrelated, and as listed are quite clearly a direct copy and paste of the daijo-kan page, which is where the info about them actually belongs) (undo)
Although the initial ritsuryō templates were an imposed organizational overlay in the Asuka and Nara periods, a peculiar form of Japanese alchemy caused the metamorphosis of court's administrative hierarchy (a) into a tool manipulated by the kuge in the Heian period and (b) into a tool marginalized by others in subsequent periods. In fact, the "revealing framework" which Bueller 007 is questioning was replicated in other articles as well:
- in Daijō-daijin (太政大臣) - see Talk:Daijō Daijin#Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
- in Sadaijin (左大臣) -- see Talk:Sadaijin#Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
- in Udaijin (右大臣) - see Talk:Udaijin#Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
- in Dainagon (大納言) -- see Talk:Dainagon#Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
- in Chūnagon (中納言) -- see Talk:Chūnagon#Proposed deletion of Eight Ministries
At Talk:Kugyō#The list, I proposed that we leave off further discussion of these matters until after the first of the year -- noting clearly that Bueller 007 continues to object to the inclusion of that list of Eight Ministries. I offered to post a linked note here and on the talk pages of each of the other above-mentioned articles.
As noted elsewhere (see Talk:Daijō-kan#Query), whether attributed to LordAmeth or to Sir George Sansom, I would anticipate that the verb "dismantle" will have a place of prominence in any discussions which may ensue. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 19:21, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- Bueller has over-reached here and elsewhere:
- I'm no longer inclined to extend the benefit of a doubt. --Ooperhoofd (talk) 01:26, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
