Naim Popal (Persian: نعیم پوپل) is a singer from Afghanistan of Pashtun and Tajik parents. He is from fatherside a member of the Popalzai tribe. He now resides in Centerville, Virginia, continuing singing in exile. His popularity soared shortly after the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. He also became very popular in Iran where he is a well recognized face, eclipsing other singers in achieving fame in that country.
