[edit] Plot

A woman's body is found in the scene of a renovation going on at her estranged husband's home. She has been shot to death with a nailgun. A nailgun is found at the scene, and the husband is questioned. The contractor doing the renovations is also a suspect, but the CSIs cannot locate him. The husband's girlfriend came home the day before to discover that the wife had burned her entire wardrobe. This admission leads to her being a suspect. The CSIs learn that the contractor has been paid $5,000 by the wife, who acquired the money from her son. The wife was putting a contract on her husband, according to the evidence. The contractor claims, however, that she put the hit on herself. She wanted to frame her husband for her own murder. The contractor refuses, but the woman's son overhears part of the conversation and believes his mother is trying to kill his father. She lets him think it, when he confronts her after the contractor leaves. She tells him to shoot her, and he does. His future stepmother finds the nail gun in his drawer, and then goes to the contractor's trailer to try to hide it. She hears someone coming, and hides. Ryan Wolfe opens the door and she shoots him in the eye. She runs out, leaving Ryan for dead. Delko responds to Ryan's "officer down" call, and rushes him to the hospital. The doctor in the ER manages to remove the nail, and there is apparently little damage.
