To-do list for Nagpur:

The article needs the following:

  1. Improve the organization of the article to make it flow more smoothly without changing the accuracy.
  2. Add the following:
    1. Citations for facts such as the flight by Indian Airlines between Nagpur and Bangkok, the city's climate, etc. The History section needs citations especially badly. Please back up any new information with accurate references and citations from credible sources like newspapers, government documents, and journals. Follow the footnotes format for new citations, like most of the citations already present in the article (see Wikipedia help page for References). If there are no citations available, then add information that has been agreed by consensus in the discussion page.
    2. Information on various localities in the Nagpur city (see thread below).
    3. Latest information on the city's demographics (Percentage of population speaking Marathi, Hindi, etc.), religion, etc.
    4. Information on the orange-industry in the city (very important).
    5. Names of famous people from Nagpur.
  3. Continue to add important information about the city.
  4. Contribute more actively to the discussion page.
  5. Nominate this article as a featured article, or at least a good article in the near future.

[edit] What about localities in the city?

The article needs some information on the major localities in the city such as Ramdaspeth, Sitabuldi, Mahal, Civil Lines, Dharampeth, etc.

[edit] Incorrect Population figures

The 3 million plus population for Nagpur city was an estimate which needs a citation. I have replaced it with 2.1 million from the 2001 census. Also, the urban population of VIDARBHA is 3 million plus, not of Nagpur urban area.

Anjan

Vidarbha has a population of 10 million plus. Nagpur district (City + adjoining urban/rural blocks has a population of 3 million plus. I cannot pinpoint the actual urban population of Vidarbha, but together with other smaller ubran centers like Wardha, Amravati, Akola etc., I guess, it should be around 4 million.

[edit] Help with infobox and references

If you know how do to this, then please do it:

1) Along with the 2006 population estimate, also add the 2001 population (according to the 2001 census) in the Nagpur infobox (the blue square with Mayor, population, etc. on the right side of the page at the beginning of the article). The figure is already there in the editing page, but I am having difficulty citing both 2001 population and 2006 population in the infobox.

Thanks!
