Nagarkanda is located at 23.4153° N 89.8917° E . It has 51016 units of house hold and total area 379.02 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Nagarkanda has a population of 267193. Males constitute are 50.18% of the population, and females 49.82%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 131533. Nagarkanda has an average literacy rate of 22.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
