  • Teal means the team came in first.
  • Red means the team was eliminated.
  • Gray means the team recieved immunity for that leg and could not be eliminated.
  • Purple means the team was last in a leg where another team had quit, and therefore they stayed in.
  • Blue means the team was the last to arrive at a pit stop in a non-elimination leg of the race and was thus "marked for elimination," meaning that if that team did not place first on the next leg, they would receive a 30 minute penalty.
  • Plum means that person was part of a solo elimination where they stayed in and their partner was eliminated.
  • Green means the team won the Fast Forward clue.
  • A yellow > means that team chose to use the Yield; < indicates the team who received it; <> indicates a leg where the Yield was available but not used.
  • Matching colors of + symbols indicate teams who worked together during part of the leg as a result of the Intersection route marker.
     Blue background means that the team is a all male team
     Red background means that the team is a male/female team

[edit] Alexander & Tiffany

Alexander & Tiffany Maxwell were known as the Married Mimes from Sarasota, Florida. Alexander & Tiffany came in 10th when the two fell behind when they could not ask for help from locals since they were mimes. The two fell very far behind, so far behind they didn't have time to finish the second Roadblock. Phil met the two at the Roadblock and informed them they were eliminated.

[edit] Jeanette & Kelly

Jeanette & Kelly Poland were known as the Mother / Daughter from Windsor, Wisconsin. In Leg 4, Jeanette & Kelly finished last but were relieved with a solo elimination. The two decided that Jeanette would go home. Jeanette finished 9th when she arrived last with her daughter after being yielded, and was chosen to go home, thus being eliminated.

Holly Martin & Allyson Kenter were known as the Highschool Students / Friends from Bridgeport, Connecticut. Holly & Allyson are the youngest team to compete in the Amazing Race that was not a family season. The two missed their Highschool Senior Prom and Graduation to compete in the race.

Kip Collins & Gerard Smith were known as the Boatsmen / Friends from Port Smith, Arkansas. Kip & Gerard finished 8th when Kip realized at the roadblock that his strength wasn't as good as the others, and the two quickly fell behind and were eliminated.

Nicholas Wolfe & Beth Cortez were known as the Dating Couple from Washington DC, District of Columbia. They are the first team to comptete in the Amazing Race not living in a United States that is not a International Edition.

[edit] Mallory & Jock

Mallory Stuart & Jock LuPau were known as the Devorced Parents from Kenton, Louisiana. During Hurricane Katrina, Mallory & Jock stayed in a shelter with Mara & Ryan from Amazing Race:Race Against the States. Mallory & Jock finished 11th when Jock forced Mallory to do the Roadblock putting a strain on their relationship. Mallory fell behind as she was afraid of heights and the two finished last and were eliminated.

Kevin O'Laughllin & June Millicent were known as the Lifelong Friends from LaFayette, Georgia. Kevin & June finished 4th after they were yielded by Holly & Allyson, came in last and were eliminated.

[edit] Jonah & Mary Ellis

Jonah Harp & Mary Ellis Bernstein were known as the Elderly Dating Couple from Providence, Maryland. Jonah & Mary Ellis finished 5th when Jonah proved that their age was there downfall. Jonah's strength failed in comparison to the other teams and he quickly fell behind at the Roadblock. The two stepped on the mat last and were eliminated.

[edit] Stephanie & Jing Yun

Stephanie Paulo & Jing Yun Win were known as the College Roomates from Silverstein, New Hampshire. Stephanie & Jing Yun finished in 12th (last). They were eliminated when Jing Yun had a hard time reading the map causing her and Stephanie to fall behind and finish last.

Marcus & Adam Eberly were known as the Brothers from Sarajevo, Arizona. In Leg 7, Marcus & Adam finished last. However, the Brothers were relieved with a Solo Elimination where the two decided that Adam would go home. The two finished last after falling behind after attempting the Fast Foward. When Jonah & Mary Ellis finished the Fast Foward first, the two fell behind, came in last and Adam was eliminated and came in 7th.

Philip Cardoza & Brent Henderson were known as the Co-Workers / Friends from Passadena, California.

[edit] Camille & Desire

Camille Harding & Desire Hope were known as the Best Friends from Kings Park, New York. Camille & Desire finished in 6th when the two fell behind the other teams at the Roadblock. The two eventually caught up with Holly & Allyson & Jonah & Mary Ellis before the Pit Stop, but Holly & Allyson managed to finished before the other two teams. Camille & Desire finished next, but since Jonah & Mary Ellis were left to check in and had immunity, Camille & Desire were pushed back to last and eliminated.

[edit] Leg 1 (United States → Brazil)

The first Detour of the Race was Motor Head or Rotor Head. In Motor Head, teams had to travel to a motorcycle shop and assemble a motorcycle, using an assembled motorcycle as a model. In Rotor Head, teams had to travel to an airport and locate one of three buildings in a São Paulo city guide, then travel by helicopter to that building to find a clue hidden within.

Additional Task

  • At the sanctuary, teams must witness a traditional ceremony and they light a white candle for receiving their next clue.

[edit] Leg 2 (Brazil)

In the first Roadblock of the race, racers had to climb a fire escape of the Edificio Copan and rappel down the building. The Detour choices were Press It or Climb It. The former required teams to press sugar cane and distill its juice to make 500 mL of ethanol to fuel their cars. In the latter task, each racer used an ascender to climb up a waterfall.

[edit] Leg 3 (Brazil → Russia → Germany)

The Roadblock from the first half of the leg required one racer to dive off a 10-meter diving platform into a pool below and retrieve an underwater clue. The Detour for this half of the leg, Scour or Scrub, had teams search for 10 clues among 1500 Russian nesting dolls, or thoroughly clean a Russian public trolley bus, respectively. The Roadblock from the second half of the leg required one racer to find a Travelocity gnome hidden under giant gnome hats and feet in a field for their next clue. The Detour for the second half of the leg, Break It or Slap It, required teams either to break "stunt bottles" over each others' heads in search of a message printed on the back of the label or learn and perform a local folk dance.

Additional Task

  • At Kilometer 114, teams had to take a zipline from the top of the hill to the bottom.
  • Upon the opening of Mercedes-Benz headquarters, teams choose a Mercedes-Benz vehicle and choose a driver for their thrilling ride on the test track.

[edit] Leg 4 (Germany → Italy)

In the Detour for this leg, Foundry or Laundry, teams chose between carrying a 110 lb. iron-cast bell and delivering it to a church or searching through over 2400 articles of laundry for one of sixteen articles of clothing bearing a red and yellow tag. At the Segesta Amphiteater was the first of two Yields in the race. For the Roadblock, teams had to assemble a Greek statue; racers were not told that there were two extra pieces that did not belong.

In the Detour for this leg, teams chose between Big Fish or Little Fish. In Big Fish, each team member must carry a 17-kg swordfish one-third of a mile and deliver them to a specific fish market vendor. In Little Fish, teams must travel by foot to the same fish market and sell 4 kg of a small fish. All teams, except for Fran and Barry, chose "Big Fish". For the Roadblock, one team member must join a game of "kayak polo" and score a goal.

Additional Task

  • At the Amphitheater, teams must count the statue heads on the fence posts that surrounds the ground of the amphitheater. If they correct, they will receive their next clue.

[edit] Leg 6 ((Italy → United States)

In the Roadblock teams had to make their way to the Barnum Museum and search for a sculpture that was being displayed that was created by Allyson in the 5th grade. The only identification they had was a picture of the sculpture. In the Detour teams had to choose between Fishes or Friesbees. In Fishes, teams made their way to a nearby harbor. Once there they would choose a bucket of fish to gut to look for a clear ball which housed their next clue. In Frisbee, teams made their way to a nearby park where they would have to take part in a professional game of ultimate frisbee and score 2 goals each

Additional Task

  • At the highschool auditorium, the teams had to search the backs of the chairs for their picture to determine where they would sit. Their chair also housed their next clue.

[edit] Leg 7 (Italy → Greece)

For this leg's Roadblock, one team member had to complete a 240 foot bungee jump. In the Detour for this leg, teams chose between Herculean Effort or It's All Greek To Me. In Herculean Effort, teams had to compete in three ancient Olympic events (discus throw, javelin throw and wrestling). In It's All Greek To Me, teams had to find nine artifacts with Greek letters, translate them to English letters and unscramble them to form the name of a location on a Greek map. The first of only two Fast Forwards on the Race was to break plates and find a little clue flag that was baked into one plate.

Additional Tasks

  • At the Trevi Fountain, teams must receive one half of Leonardo Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man drawing.
  • At the Spanish Steps, teams must find the other half of the Vitruvian Man drawing. The first team to arrive at the pit stop with the whole drawing wins a prize.

[edit] Leg 8 (Greece → Oman)

This leg's Detour was Camel or Watchtower. In Camel, teams had to lift a camel into a pickup truck using a winch, and drive it a short distance to receive their next clue. In Watchtower, teams had to search among three towers for scrolls encased in silver. After they found a scroll, they had to deliver it to a silversmith. The Roadblock was to dig any of 117 sand dunes to find one of 6 shuwas, Omani underground ovens. Inside it was a woven pouch with a meal of lamb, which they would have for dinner.

[edit] Leg 9 (Oman → Australia)

The Detour for this leg of the race offered teams the choice of Sand or Sea. In Sand, teams had to drag 40 branches 126 yards to a marked sand dune, an activity known as "brushing the beach," which helps prevent erosion. In Sea, teams searched among 50 underwater crayfish traps for those with live Western rock lobsters; each team member had to retrieve one rock lobster (commonly called crayfish, but they are actually lobsters). This leg's Roadblock involved searching a section of Fremantle Prison for a flashlight and batteries, then searching a network of underground wet and dry tunnels for a clue.

[edit] Leg 10 (Australia)

At the airstrip was the second of two Yields hidden on the race. The Roadblock for this leg of the race saw one member of each team doing a tandem skydive. This leg's Detour offered teams the choice of Wet or Dry. In Wet, teams drove six miles to a swimming hole called Buli Rockhole, then hiked and swam one mile down a river infested with "spiders and poisonous plants" to receive their next clue. In Dry, teams drove six miles on-road, then six miles off-road to a rock formation known as The Lost City and selected a didgeridoo. They then had to find an Aboriginal musician with a matching didgeridoo and each team member had to play a note to receive the next clue.

Additional Task

  • Upon the opening of Crocodylus Park, Teams walk through the park and over a wooden bridge where their new friends anxiously await below in the water.

[edit] Leg 11 (Australia → Thailand)

The Fast Forward on this leg was to eat a bowl of fried crickets and grasshoppers. The Roadblock required one team member to make a ceremonial feast for monkeys and give it to them. The Detour was Move It or Altar It. In Move It, teams had to transport 72 pots from a pottery shop to a docked boat by balancing them on a board. Altar It required teams to assemble a shrine, including gold leafing a small Buddha statue for the shrine.

[edit] Leg 12 (Thailand → Japan)

The Detour was Maiden or Messenger. In Maiden, teams had to transport a young Japanese woman in a traditional Japanese palanquin for 1/3 mile to a tea ceremony pavilion. In Messenger, each person had to construct a foldable bicycle, ride their bikes through the streets of Tokyo, and deliver packages to two separate office buildings. The Roadblock required one team member to ride on three extreme rides in the Fujikyu Highland Amusement Park in the following order: The Pizza, Dodonpa, and Fujiyama. While riding the rides, they had to look for a man holding a sign. Upon completion of their third ride, they had to tell the park manager what was written on the sign to receive their next clue. If they didn't see the sign they would have to go on all three rides again.

Additional Tasks

  • Upon the opening of Royal Kraal, teams must find T-Mobile Sidekick, on the elephant's mouth and where the next clue is display on the phone.
  • At the Shibuya crossing, teams must wait the sign crossing for the next destination which it displays.
  • At Lake Yamanaka, teams must take a swan boat and paddle out to the big swan, this pit stop on this race.

[edit] Leg 13 (Japan → United States)

In the Detour teams had to choose between Drill It and Deliver It. In Drill It, teams had to drill 10 holes in the ice, push an ice fishing shack to their holes and properly position the shack over at least two of the holes. In Deliver It, teams had to load a bush plane with medical supplies, fly with a pilot over 75 miles to deliver the supplies and fly back. Due to poor weather conditions, Deliver It was subject to an indefinite delay. All teams, by default, decided to Drill It. The Roadblock required one team member to retrieve a flag for each destination country they traveled to during the race, other than the United States, and place the flags in the order which they visited each country. The other team member was allowed to assist but not physically participate. Teams had a reference board with the flags of each destination country and three incorrect flags. After finishing the Roadblock, teams were allowed to run to the finish line.
